Hortense, the cow for a queen : production material, ca. 1957.

Ink and pencil dummy with text proof, ink illustration with separations for jacket, ink illustrations, collage and tempera studies for jacket, tempera study for jacket. Hortense is a placid, motherly cow in Normandy whose search for her firstborn take her first to Africa and then to a reunion with her calf in the Petit Trianon of Marie Antoinette.
